A couple in a 1920s semi-detached home wanted to improve the energy efficiency of their house. They noticed drafts in the winter and high energy bills, especially from the loft, which was poorly insulated and not boarded.

The Challenge:

The loft was uninsulated, making it a major source of heat loss during the colder months.  Additionally, the space was unorganised and inaccessible, which meant that the couple couldn’t utilise it effectively for storage or any potential living space.

Our Solution:

CB Lofts carried out a comprehensive loft insulation and boarding project. We removed old,  ineƯicient insulation and replaced it with high-performance materials. Afterwards, we boarded the loft and installed a new ladder and hatch to make the space fully accessible and functional.

The Result:

The couple noticed an immediate improvement in their home’s comfort and energy efficiency.  The loft is now properly insulated, keeping the home warm in winter and cool in summer. The new boarding provides them with valuable storage space, and they’ve seen a significant reduction in their energy bills.
